Smokers

Why do we attempt to trivialize one of the most profound issues that face mankind?

Hmmm...is it trivialising it? Or is it simply using a witty turn of phrase to get someone's attention, who might otherwise not have given the matter any thought at all?

Because being able to find humour in an unexpected place may show someone that Christian is not synonimous with Geek and so remove a barrier standing between them and Jesus.

just a funny way to get people's attention. unsaved people will not be offended about this and it might just get a few to stop by the church.

Well, smoking is bad, don't get me wrong...but one of the most profound issues that face mankind? I dunno, that seem to be stretching it a bit. The smoke we put in the air with our cars is probably just as bad, if not worse. And don't get me started on McDonald's French Fries. I wouldn't be surprised if a medium serving of McDonald's fries was even worse for you than a pack of cigarettes.

It just happens that so much of the medical attention has been placed on smoking, since it was always slightly taboo in this country to smoke, even before people knew it was bad for your health.

I never smoked; it's a nasty habit, but I really think the sign is fine.

After the second death, men and women forever under the wrath of God? I think this not a joking matter.
