Say Yes to God

Another 'man' centered view of the gospel - poor Jesus has to wait on the all powerful man to decided to accept Him. Is God helpless to save the lost?

CHOOSE ye this day Whom ye will serve...It's NOT arrogant of man to sing 'I have decided to follow Jesus'. God indeed calls us. We likewise respond by saying 'YES'.

Do you choose to become a son? I don't think so! I would say that making the man-centered statement, "I have decided" obscures the greater truth that God chooses us and gives us a 'heart of flesh' that then (in response to God's work in our heart) believes and trusts in Christ alone for salvation.

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”John 8:42-47

man is powerless without JESUS there is only one decision to make and that is to except JESUS without you making a decision then one has already been made for you.
bottom line is heaven or hell.

Often the literal meaning gets obscured by the details of ones theological position. The simple truth is that our mission is to preach the gospel to every creature, the Father draws sinners to the message by divine grace and men are commanded to repent and believe the gospel. The human mind is actively engaged but will only believe unto salvation under the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit imediately preceeds repentance and faith and so man will not "freely choose" without this gracious gift of God. "no man comes to me (Jesus Christ) unless the Father draws him."
